SICoM, generations of professionalism
A mechanical engineer, trained in OLIVETTI’s electronic research laboratory in the 1960s, with experience in a range of industrial sectors, enters the metal accessories sector. Then, 14 years on, thanks to an equity partner, flanked by a trusted expert technician and then by his son, in 1985 he created a company for the production of applying machines with extremely modern concepts, characterised by flexibility and modularity. The initiative immediately proved to be a winning one and the brand gained a foothold on the market.
Financial problems led to the decision to close that company and establish SICoM in 1994 in which both the son and the technician from the previous initiative took part, this time in the role of founding partners.
The extensive know-how (over 20 years), exclusive asset of this new company, allows it to gain a foothold in the market and, after a conflictual period with the old company, SICoM took over the entire shareholding and in 1999 it moved to its new headquarters in Albizzate.
The 2000s saw a qualitative leap and, with the entry of the second son who was specialised in software design with 15 years of experience, SICoM followed the road of automation of the metal and other accessories applying processes.
The design activities, the company’s main characteristic, continued full steam ahead and the standard machines were increasingly joined by special machines.
The founding partner’s commitment to research rubbed off on the technical staff that are able to understand and propose advanced solutions, from individual machines to automatic plants, to customers in a wide range of industrial sectors.
